***PRESS RELEASE*** Travis AFB Airman dies in motorcycle accident off base

TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. – An active-duty Airman from Travis AFB was pronounced dead following a motorcycle accident in Vacaville, Oct. 6, 2023. 

The name of the deceased is being withheld until 24 hours after next-of-kin notification.

“We are deeply saddened by this sudden and tragic loss of one of our teammates,” said Col. Derek Salmi, 60th Air Mobility Wing commander. “On behalf of the wing, I want to extend our deepest condolences to family and friends during this time.”
