A Site Activation Task Force arrived Jan. 10 to help plan the arrival of the KC-46 Pegasus aircraft.

The team is here to assess the beddown requirements that were previously laid out and to verify that nothing was missed in the last site survey.

The team is reviewing construction and manpower requirements to ensure a successful beddown. They are ensuring manpower requirements are correct and assessing what MacDill may need for the transition.

A representative from the SATAF team says they are excited to be here at such a great location. “The transition won’t be painless but it will work well for the Air Force’s premiere tanker aircraft.”

Next steps include an environmental impact analysis and programming construction dollars to begin any needed construction.
