FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. —
Team Fairchild welcomed Air Mobility Command’s leadership team, Jan. 6, 2022, showcasing Fairchild’s mission and innovations.
During the visit, Gen. Mike Minihan, AMC commander and Chief Master Sgt. Brian Kruzelnick, AMC command chief, received an inside look at the innovations Team Fairchild has championed.
“Train them, lead them, motivate them, then get out of the way,” Minihan said. “What we can do in this family is a establish battle rhythm, culture, and the capabilities of a warfighting headquarters that can get after a high-end fight.”
Team Fairchild is constantly evolving to maintain mission readiness, advance the Multi-Capable Airmen concept, and expand Agile Combat Employment initiatives. All of which fall in line with the future standards of readiness Minihan has in pacing peer adversaries.
“The boss asks a lot, ‘Are we ready?’ and I think Fairchild can say, ‘Yes’ very easily, and it’s because of you [Airmen],” Kruzelnick said. “Great ideas won’t come from old people, they’ll come from you.”
Some of the innovations include the 92nd Maintenance Squadron’s three-dimensional laser system scanner, which uses reverse engineering to recreate essential aircraft parts and reduce required man-hours by 14,000. The 92nd Logistics Readiness Squadron is also making strides in innovation with their new steel platform design for aircraft stands to ensure the safety of Airmen, which set a benchmark for the rest of the Air Force to follow.
“You guys are doing it better than I did it, and better than anyone I’ve ever worked with,” Kruzelnick said. “What you’re doing here is making us more lethal and more ready for the fight.”
By continuing to care for and develop Airmen, Team Fairchild plays a vital role in preparing mobility forces for the future.
