The U.S. Air Force Band partnered with Washington Performing Arts to present the music of big band legend Major Alton Glenn Miller on April 2, 2019, at the Music Center at Strathmore in North Bethesda, Maryland. The concert, “On the Air: A Glenn Miller Swing Celebration,” highlighted the legacy of Maj. Miller’s music and his leadership of the Army Air Force Band. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the disappearance of Miller’s plane during World War II.
