Airmen from the 6th Security Forces Squadron marine patrol unit monitor the coastal restricted area surrounding MacDill Air Force Base, Mar. 7. Marine patrolmen provide waterborne deterrence, detection and respond to any threat within MacDill’s surrounding waters. The 6th SFS marine patrol unit is responsible for one of the largest CRA’s in the Department of Defense and is the only 24/7 unit in the U.S. Air Force. The 6th SFS marine patrol unit was established in 2002 and has become the benchmark for all other marine patrol units across the Air Force.
