SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. —
Air Mobility Command has awarded 12 Distinguished Flying Crosses, four Bronze Star Medals, 208 Air Medals and 73 Meritorious Service Medals for actions taken during Operation Allies Refuge from its second and final awards board held in November.
Those being awarded include maintainers, loadmasters, Raven-trained security forces, aeromedical evacuation personnel, and tanker aircrews across the Total Force. The majority of the decorations were awarded with combat devices and one of the Bronze Star Medals include a valor device.
“While long overdue, I am proud to recognize another group of mobility Airmen who accomplished heroic feats two years ago,” said Gen. Mike Minihan, commander of AMC. “There is no clearer evidence that Airmen will always be the magic.”
The latest decorations were awarded from the seventh awards board reviewing the records of Airmen involved in OAR, the second and final hosted by AMC.
In early November, AMC awarded eight Distinguished Flying Crosses, two Bronze Star Medals, 229 Air Medals and 98 Meritorious Service Medals for those who supported the operation in 2021.
