On June 30, Team Scott expressed gratitude to Capt. David Stuppy Jr., 375th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, flight nurse for his heroic actions in Kabul, Afghanistan. Family and friends along with Col. Chris Robinson, 375th Air Mobility Command commander, congratulated Stuppy on being awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross with a “C” device.

On the afternoon of August 26, 2021 Stuppy was among the crew of MOOSE 98, operating a C-17A Globemaster III, alerted to conduct an urgent Aeromedical Evacuation mission from Hamid Karzai International Airport, Kabul, Afghanistan to Ramstein Air Base, Germany in response to a suicide bombing at the airfield.

Stuppy’s heroic efforts led to the successful evacuation and transportation of multiple critically wounded patients to Ramstein Air Base; his courageous actions played a significant role in ensuring the survival and immediate medical care of those in need.
